March 21 is considered their professional holiday: actors and employees of puppet theaters, Amateur studios and teachers of theater studios., And of course a large number of people who are fond of this art.
I want to feel also my participation in this holiday)
The initiator of the professional holiday was made by the Iranian theater worker Divad Zolfagariho. In 2000, the XVIII Congress of the International Union of figures of the theatre of dolls has considered this proposal. But the question of the place and time of the celebration remained unresolved. At the meeting of the UNIMA international Council in 2003, the participants agreed on the date of the event. The festival has received wide support and spreading around the world.
The first mention of the puppet theater was depicted in Ancient Egypt. During the holidays, women went from one settlement to another with songs. In the hands, they wore special figurines of the thread by which the last move. Such dolls are still made in Latin America and Syria.
Thanks to archaeologists and their work, we can learn how the celebrations were held in the 16th century BC. The puppeteer was not only in Egypt but also in Greece and Ancient Rome. Someone came up with splitting the box in half to symbolize peace. With such products, puppeteers went to Europe and showed their performances.
Later boxes were added to the scenery, it helped to mark the location of the depicted actions. However, admired not only decoration and elegance introducing the dolls. At all times, the work of a man who forced his wards to “revive” in his skillful hands was appreciated.
There is a traditional puppet theater in every corner of the world and, like hundreds of years ago continues to amuse and surprise its audience.
