Creative ideas fly directly in the air. It is only to lend a hand and to have time to catch the elusive thought, the time to bring it to life.
Not worth it for a very long time “to bear” the thought, wait for it to finally “ripen” in the head in the form of the desired option. It is often such a long wait does not implement the idea. The idea transformed and in the end lose their colors and original appeal.
Many may not agree with me and perhaps this approach is peculiar to me, but I think there is still the same as I do. I’m trying to implement your ideas immediately in hot pursuit. Once in my head, there was even a tiny bit of the idea, I immediately start trying to implement it. And believe me, she immediately begins to grow into the nuances, details and new colors. And it happens that she transformed beyond recognition and it becomes quite a new idea. And you have this happen?
Why am I still writing?!
Imagine that you have several kinds of creativity. How often do you visit the thought- ” why not combine my skills, not whether it will give me a new and not less interesting. Perhaps or even definitely they can complement each other.
And so it happened that little blue dress. The beads on it are not sewn and tied into the fabric.
My doll accidentally fell into the sugar bowl)))) and here in the photo. As always in thought)))
I am 52 years old. In October 2017 will mark 53. I’m not ashamed to talk about my age, and saying that it is improper to ask a woman about her age, I’m not pretty.
So….I am 52 years old. As I wrote in one of my posts, I’m engaged in creative work. Knitting, as it turns out, that’s exactly my class! Even in the last couple of years when I worked in the hotel business, I still found time for my favorite pastime. And here a year ago the hotel business was finished, and I again focused on my hobby. And again made it my job. What I realized now, after a long break.
****The professionalism has no expiration date. With age, your professional skills are only better because they are enriched with experience.****
So. All I knew and know now helps me to create doll clothes. And the fact that she’s tiny, makes me continue learning and improving skills.
I’m not trying to repeat itself and to work like I worked before. It is not possible and in my opinion counterproductive.
“With age and experience changes our attitude to work and that work brings us joy and satisfaction”
In one book I read the following lines – ” Don’t be afraid to start a new business, regardless of years. There is nothing better for the brain than new experiences and challenges. There is nothing healthier than a case that is fun.” How is this formulated correctly and precisely? And here are a few rules or expectations which appeared to me important and worthy to share them with you.
1 Let’s start small but their own business. It will give you freedom and a sense of belonging, and most importantly, the ability not to depend on other people’s stereotypes about your age and your occupation. To obtain salary, you need to convince others of their abilities and, to get income — enough to convince yourself
2 Do not hire and do not hire. They sell the results of their personal work and their personal abilities.
3 Find what you love to do anyway, and learn how to get paid for it. This is the job of your dreams. Remember: what you like to do, is a hobby. That hobby became a business, you need to find a form in which it is claimed by others. It’s not always easy, but always possible.
4 Imaginary features are always more attractive than real. But the real good that they can be used.
5 Use your expertise and not your time. Selling your time, you will lose it by selling your experience — just multiply it.
6 Age when too late to learn a new profession, does not exist. Age does not create physical constraints. They create our perception of it.
And the most important thing for me – “With age, learning becomes more difficult and easier!”
I’m back from vacation, with a new mood and new ideas. I’ve had time to think about your classes. I know exactly what I want. Therefore, only forward!
Another story about my Turkish trip. Today he will be devoted to the Church of St. Nicholas in Demre.
The road from Antalya to Demre takes place along the stunning sea. I have not seen such a turquoise color. If only I could paint it))). And in a small town Finike. It is considered the birthplace of the famous Turkish tomatoes)
The Church of St. Nicholas, built in the 4th century. It is a marble sarcophagus in 1087 the relics of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. In the 19th century the Church was reconstructed on the funds of the Russian Empire. She currently inactive and you can visit it as a Museum. Only one day a year it is fulfilling its religious functions. On 6 December the birthday of Nicholas of Myra thousands of Christian pilgrims gather for worship.According to the story, Nicholas was born in 245 in the city of Patara in sixty kilometers from Demre. His parents belonged to a fairly rich well-known family, and from Nicholas inherited a good condition. However, he was indifferent to material things, because since childhood led a spiritual life. In the year 300 he became the Bishop of Myra, where he lived until his death.
Despite his very old age, the Church is well preserved murals and frescos of the XI and XII centuries, which give the room a completely extraordinary look. The floor is paved with a very interesting mosaic of different types of stone. It is believed that this mosaic was in fact an ancient temple existed even before came in Demre Saint Nicholas.Saint Nicholas after his death was buried in the marble of the Lycian sarcophagus in the Church. In the XI century, when the Church was threatened to be plundered by the Seljuk Turks, Italian merchants stole the relics of the Saint and his ship took them to Bari, in the South-East of Italy. To this day the Shrine is the temple of this Italian city.
Now the relics of St. Nicholas in Moscow, and a month will go to St.-Petersburg. I will go to pray for the peace and health of all who suffer. Now St. Nicholas is one of the most venerated saints in Christianity. The Russian Church put a special service along with the apostles on Thursdays. He is revered not only as the defender from troubles and misfortunes, but also as the guardian of the waters. Russian sailors believed him as their patron. After the Church of St. Nicholas we looked at the sunken city of Kekova and swim in the clear water of a small Bay. we were on our way past small Islands. My dream is to stay in seclusion on a small island)Here is the journey we have made. Thank you for your time, which you will not regret to visit me at my home!
I often get asked what needles and hooks, I knit. And what kind of yarn I use. You will slightly open the small secrets of my work.
When 2 years ago, I started knitting for dolls, I didn’t have suitable needles and hooks for knitting. Rather, they were, but it is very big size)
But as the desire to create clothes for dolls was unbearable, I, of course, tried to crochet from what was at hand.
How funny to see these first. Not because they are poorly made, but because there’s a discrepancy model ( doll) and knitted fabrics. The doll looks like a “Scarecrow” in the garden in a ridiculous hoodie.
So be sure to compare the thickness of the yarn and your model if she’s a doll!
This does not apply to knitting for adults. In this case, it is possible to play any thread and yarn.
And of course, the yarn thickness, in the process, began to purify. Along with it was completely different rooms of crochet hooks.
And again a small tip. When you conceive of what model and product, try to pick up a crochet hook or knitting needles for each yarn.
In most cases, we make simple models for which you need the right combination of tools and yarn. Unless of course, you planned something special, here your imagination can stretch up to a complete mismatch of both)
I tried to crochet from different types of yarn, trying to find exactly what will allow you to be my gentle and suitable for the size of my dolls. It was a bobbin thread for sewing and yarn for embroidery and many different types of yarn. By the way, the dolls also began to decrease. Now my favorite is the miniature doll measuring only 2 inches.
I must admit that, at first, to knit a very thin hook and knitting wasn’t easy! But believe me, if your desire is very strong, there is nothing you can’t scare or stop along the way. And that’s where I stopped. To create a fancy wardrobe for my dolls I chose thread for embroidery from Madeira company. This is an absolutely amazing thread, the gamma is so huge that it is possible to realize any idea. These threads sometimes I do a little embroidery on the dresses.
In these threads, I sometimes add the necessary color line of yarn Guterman.
For creating custom dresses or suits, I’m using the same yarn Madeira, but of a different quality. It’s a thin wool blend yarn for embroidery.
But the special “diamond” in my Studio, this yarn from the Italian manufacturer Grignasco Merino silk. It’s a terrific yarn that combines Merino and silk. It is thin and elastic, the fabric is excellent and smooth, it didn’t work. Whether it’s knitting needles or a crochet hook.
Dolls are very small and therefore any error or, for example, a flat loop will be noticeable on such a tiny canvas. Helps me at work lighted magnifier and these my most essential tools.
So, at the end of my post, I want to say that —- If you want to see your work was high quality and accurate, be sure to make a sample. Test different knitting needles or hooks to achieve the desired density knitting. Swipe wet-heat treatment of the finished sample. Write down all the tools and types of yarn that you get. Believe me, the time that you spend on these simple steps will greatly help you in future work.
Thank you very much again, looked in my workshop. I was wondering if you have any questions. The only way I will be able to help you in your work.
I intended this blog as a series of small stories about my Hobbies and my passion for different kinds of needlework. The study of each of them, in one way or another, helped me to understand, what interests me the most. Difficult to stop on something one. And wanted to find an area to allow them all to merge into one. And this opportunity has finally found the real embodiment. It’s a doll.
There fully I took all my skills to work with beads and yarn, crochet and knitting, and of course working with leather.
It began accidentally, even though I thought about it for a long time. I watched master classes and read about different techniques working with leather. And decided to start to try to do little things to store Souvenirs or useful things.
So, this post will be dedicated to miniature pouches their leather.
Every woman keeps in her purse a lot of little things. Remember how in the childhood we loved to play “secrets” of the “secrets” I came up to a little sewing keepers.
Sewing leather was not an easy task, but gradually I began to receive here such nice things.
Thanks to my friend Natalia Eliseeva, I became the owner of a huge number of scraps the finest leather. Sew a simple seam seemed a little boring, and in turn went to beads and beads. It totally changed the mood of the finished products. They were unusual to store your lovely heart trinkets even more enjoyable. What do you think?
The next step was the idea of wearing such custodian for the neck on a beautiful chain and the use of lace for decoration.
It turned out that such pouches. Imagine that you came to the salon to do a manicure….it is in this pouch you can put rings, while the wizard deals with your hands.
The smallest trimming the skin become rosy. They can decorate bags or worn as pendants.
And a couple more things that I found interesting. This covers for the phone and ROM memory. Then I tried to make the application of different skin colors and to sheathe them with small beads.
It seems that the famous “Indian cucumber” as the pattern is now experiencing a new round of popularity — based on it really is very a well-known brand has managed to produce completely different forms of clothing. The history of the origin of the pattern.
Paisley, Indian cucumber, or, if not accurately, booth — the pattern is very ancient. Probably the first time he appeared in the Sassanid Empire, an ancient state, from 224 to 651 ad, located on the territory of modern Iraq and Iran. Thanks to trade relations fabric with this pattern spread throughout Central Asia and even in India and Africa. In Europe, the same “cucumber” came from India in the XVII century due to the British colonists. The demand for exotic Indian cloth was so high that enterprising Europeans began to weave fabric with “cucumber” themselves. A small Scottish town Paisley, in General, is fully devoted all resources to the production of cloth in the Indian style and thus remained for centuries — but as the name of the pattern. In fact, what really is Paisley, no consensus. According to one version, this floral motif, combined with the silhouette of a cypress tree, a symbol of life in Zoroastrianism. Another version of the origin of stylized flames also symbolizes life. Perhaps the origin of cashew nuts, which were a symbol of fertility. In India, it is widely believed that “cucumbers” represent the seeds of the mango tree. In any case, what the theory did not take — it is about life and fertility.
The first popular product with the Paisley pattern in Europe was cashmere shawls from the Indian region of Kashmir. They were extremely expensive, and afford only wealthy aristocrats. In the early nineteenth century, Scottish masters learned to weave “cucumbers” on jacquard looms and shawls with Paisley became more a mass product. However, they were not cashmere, but lambswool or silk and flowers were much less than the authentic Indian product.A little later start to Paisley print on cotton, and the pattern ceases to be a luxury, and by the 1870s, the “cucumbers” not exactly out of fashion, but rather move to the area every day.
.Now Paisley is experiencing a new heyday.
Given the Paisley on the carpet during the fashion shows this year, we can assume that the summer will see a new wave of enthusiasm “cucumber”. In the end, not everyone can wear camo.
I’ve always loved this picture. And even a lot has been associated with such a marvelous motif. But here came the hands and the jewelry. A small collection of jewelry in the form of “Indian pickle” Starts with two very coloristic pendants. The great thing that this picture is just perfect for me. I don’t really like the monochrome in decoration, I prefer her in clothes. So all my jewelry is so bright. So..
This ornament gives a huge field for imagination and new ideas and new options.I try to do them more or less classic to go with a simple dress or jumper
Some more photos of my favorite decorations in the Eastern style.
Today my story will be about cross stitch. It’s a beautiful form of needlework that women like. “Ill” embroidery very easy. Ideas for paintings and miniatures are in the air and asks for the canvas. So I was fascinated by it. At first, it was embroidery on finished schemes. I’m not going to write about the history of embroidery, if you wish, You can find a lot of interesting information about this kind of needlework. I’ll show you my work and a little comment on them.
I found it interesting to create thumbnails with the little girl and letters. And, as always, each picture was accompanied by its story.
It’s the letter O. it begins my name, Olga. I love needlework in all its diversity. I love the blue color, so for the dress, I chose thread in shades of blue.
